Software

Bitwarden
The biggest name in password and MFA in the FOSS community, so you likely have heard of it before. If not, it is a free and open source cloud based password manager that can be self hosted (though that is heavily not recommended). Much better than LastPass or... God forbid... all your passwords in a browser!

DW Service
A free, open source remote viewing service that I like for monitoring and controlling machines, especially family members' that I am responsible for maintaining.

FreeFileSync
Windows Only
FOSS local file syncing.
This is fantastic if you do a quick and dirty server setup with just two drives mirrored. Rather than setting up RAID 1, you can just use this software to have actual version control. It has been very helpful!

Stats for MacOS
During my (technically second) experimentation with MacOS, I have found this piece of software extremely useful. It is much nicer for monitoring system resources than the actual Activity Monitor.

GrapheneOS
I primarily use an iPhone these days, but this is undoubtedly the best operating system for a mobile device. Completely open source, hardened, and with sand-boxed Google Play services.

Media Stack

Unraid
This is OS of my psudo-frontend server. I have some Frankenstiened computers that act as my main servers, and Unraid is the best solution for that.

The 'rr' stack
Radarr, Sonarr, Flaresolverr, and Prowlarr. These individual tools work together to make searching, extracting, and organzing media extremely easily. I have them all piped into deluge-vpn, which I am still tentative about compared to transmission or qbittorrent, but it has been working so far.

Plex
I have been using it as a delivery system for years now, but with recent events, I have been looking into Jellyfin as replacement, I just have not determined the best way to traverse networks.

FileBot
This tool has been reliable for years for quickly renaming and organizing media. It was my primary tool before the 'rr' stack, and I still use it frequently when extracting entire collections of media, as the 'rr's are not able to handle that.
